Designer Wei Tzu-Yuan and his design studio specialize in experimenting with different materials, textures and pattern structures. Not only is he a regular at Taipei Fashion Week, he has also presented his creative works in New York, Prague, Moscow, Wellington and Bangkok. This time, he used a futuristic perspective to replace the power of Taiwan's Electric Flower Cars to convey the concept of sustainability, allowing cultural fusion to continue the function of epidemic prevention and sustainability.

Designer Chen Chia, a graduate from Shih Chien University, chose “New Rules” as the creative theme, based on the active motion of Taiwan’s tectonic plate. Deconstructed lines and irregular pattern structures were used to present contemporary designs that show how fashionable daily life is.

The menswear fashion brand “ABRAHAM”, established by designer Albert Hou, made its debut appearance in 2021. It refined a new generation of menswear design from the perspective of gender diversity. His collection of clothing was inspired by the concept of artistic aesthetics and the integration of colors and prints into the structure of clothing design.

The style of designer Liao Jia-Ping is simple and neutral, combining the concepts of modern urbanism, minimalism and uniforms. The color scheme was extended from black, using different material characteristics to create a sense of layering and styling tension while emphasizing both aesthetics and practicality. Elements related to hair salons were also used to create design symbols.

Inspired by the plant polygraph expert Cleve Backster, this year’s designs by 8c consisted solely of womenswear. The theme of her look was based on “botanical consciousness”, recreating the multiple forms of plants using silk, yarn and linen to make layers and create ruching with irregular cutting. The light posture was shaped into silhouettes and coupled with special hand-dyed fabrics, presenting various plant emotions.

Designer Wang Chien-Kai focused on the theme of “Sniper” to re-examine the perspectives of different people and aspects of the world. Using daily suits as the basis of his concept, he integrated layers of contrasting yet seemingly non-existent materials to dissemble and assemble different looks, adding versatility to his clothing collection.

Designer Lee Yi-Syuan specializes in the combination of natural elements and life experiences. Her theme “Flow” was inspired by Bruce Lee’s famous quote “Be Water, My Friend!” As the entire collection was dedicated to womenswear, the clothing style was elegant and full of personality. The focus was on a loose fits and asymmetric cuts, creating both rigid and soft aesthetics.
